In September of this year, 4,012 online survey participants gave their reasons for preferring to shop online rather than in a physical store. 65% of the respondents gave “avoiding crowds” as their reason for choosing online instead of in-store. 74% of the participants stated “comfort of shopping from home” as their reason for online shopping.
“Free shipping/delivery options” (60%), “24-hour availability” (58%), and the ability to “easy compare prices” (53%) were also popular reason for choosing online shopping over physical stores.
