In a 2020 survey, 4,012 US shoppers were asked, “What would influence you to try a new store or online retailer?”. 62% of the respondents said that better prices would influence them to try a new retailer. Unique products (44%) and coupons or discounts (44%) were the next most popular reasons for choosing a new store for the participants in this story
A pleasant shopping experience (32%) and COVID-19 safety precautions (32%) were the least popular on the least, but still very relevant for these shoppers.
